Hon. Duba Allahyafi Samson, Leader of the Kanam Legislative Council and Councillor representing GidGid Ward, successfully led the first plenary session alongside fellow house members. In his opening remarks, Hon. Duba highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among the councillors, stressing that working together will bring progress and success to the people of Kanam.
“It is good to work together in bringing progress, success, and unity to the people of Kanam, regardless of our representation,” Hon. Duba stated, encouraging all councillors to prioritize the needs of the people and work cohesively for the greater good.
During the session, the councillors pledged to collaborate not only with each other but also with the Local Government Chairman to ensure the success of the Local Government as a whole. The plenary ended with the council passing important resolutions and making recommendations that will be put into action in the coming months.
The first sitting set a positive tone for the legislative council, with a shared commitment to drive meaningful development in Kanam.
